Jared Sender MD MBA is a partner and the senior healthcare investment advisor for the SC&P. Dr. Sender is uniquely positioned to evaluate all facets of the healthcare universe given his more than 10 years experience working on Wall Street, leadership experience at a municipal healthcare system in the United States and a managed Medicaid Health Plan in New York State. His career started following medical school in 1998 when he joined the #1 ranked pharmaceutical equity research team at Merrill Lynch. He then joined Exis Capital Management where he led a healthcare investing team from 1999 to 2006. After leaving Exis, he went on his own as a successful healthcare proprietary trader from 2007 to 2011 at First NY Securities and G-2 Trading.
Dr. Sender more recently held a leadership position in Population Health at New York City Health and Hospitals from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, he was appointed as Assistant Vice President of Value Based Payment Initiatives at Fidelis Care. As a key member of the senior management team, he built a brand new department and played a pivotal role in the transformation of the way the health plan rewarded providers for lowering health care costs and improving quality.
Dr. Sender graduated from the University of Michigan with high honors in 1994. He graduated SUNY Downstate Medical School with Summa Cum Laude distinction in 1998 and received an MBA with high honor distinction in Finance from New York University’s Stern Business School in 2013.
